Fairhills High School is a government high school located in Knoxfield, Victoria, a suburb of Melbourne, Australia. Located close to Knox City Shopping Centre, the school is easily accessible by public transport. The school's mission is "leading all students to be confident and effective life-long learners."

Fairhills has adopted a SEAL (Select Entry Accelerated Learning) program.[1] For the students within the program, this means a higher academic level of work and being 'fast-tracked' through Year Nine, therefore being able to give a greater focus to VCE studies. In their penultimate year of VCE, the students are reunited.

Fairhills High School has an engaging and varied curriculum, and offers a wide range of Key Learning Areas (KLA's) for students to focus upon. From the Core KLA's of English, Mathematics, Science and SOSE, Fairhills has many different subjects to engage all learners, and all subjects are immersed in new and innovative approaches to technology. Sports fanatics will be interested in the extensive Physical Education and Health KLA, the Performing and Visual Arts are widely represented with everything from Dance and Theatre Studies through to Ceramics and Photography, and with a focus on International Relationships, LOTE is represented with Japanese and German. There are an extensive range of VCE subjects available for those studying their final years of High School.

Fairhills High School has an extensive range of extra-curricular activities available for students from Year 7 through to VCE. For those with a passion for the Arts, Fairhills offers a Rock Eisteddfod program and a Musical Production each year. The year of 2009 saw students direct and choreograph the production, "Murder at the Music Hall". There are several bands, and many options of different sporting teams that students can join, not to mention a Chess Club and a Lego Club for those that prefer a quieter, more studious approach.

Rock Eisteddfod Challenge

Fairhills has competed in the Rock Eisteddfod Challenge since 1995, winning the Victorian Open Division in 1996 and placing first for the first time in 2005 in the Victorian premier division.[2]

Fairhills then went on that year to place third in the National Event. In 2006, Fairhills finished second in the Premier State section. In 2007 Fairhills came second with their theme of "Japanime". In 2008, Fairhills took home the coveted Victorian state champion title in the Premier Grand Final with their theme "Oceania", a peek into the affects that Global Warming have on our environment. Most recently in 2009, Fairhills became the first school in Victorian history to win 2 state titles consecutively, our performance of 'Bon Appetit', the story of Marie Antoinette and the French Revolution, won the school 6 major production awards at the Grand Final Event.

The Rock Eisteddfod Team is composed of students from Years 7 through to Year 12, and requires great discipline, dedication and team work from all involved.
